This Saros series is capable of tackling exacting fishing challenges as wide ranging as working Stiffy Minnows in Tasmanian estuaries for monster black bream, to casting 145 millimetre Flick Baits around inshore bommies for big, knobby-headed reds.

The Saros lineup features Shimano’s latest technological advances - Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement, Propulsion Line Management, SR Concept (Smooth, Silent, Strong, Reliable) and inside the aluminium frame, graphite sideplate and graphite rotor lie five SA-RB (Shielded Anti-Rust Bearings) and a roller bearing for super smooth performance. A machined aluminium handle keys directly into the main gear and the Septon handle grips are comfortable to use, while Dyna-Balance makes even high speed cranking wobble-free.

The Saros 1000F has a gear ratio of 5.6:1, the 2500F and 3000F a warp speed gearing of 6:1, and the 4000F 5.7:1. Each Saros F has an aluminium spool, plus a spare for another line class or style of line (braid or mono), and capacities are more than generous. With each model it’s possible to crank on heaps of drag, and the waterproof drag system tells you that these reels are up to the rough and tumble challenge of the marine world.
